Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between ™ and ®?+
™ (trademark) can be used for any mark you claim as a brand, whether or not it is registered. ® (registered) may only be used for trademarks that are officially registered with a trademark office such as the USPTO. Using ® on an unregistered mark can create legal problems.
How do I type the copyright symbol ©?+
The quickest way is to copy it above. On Windows you can also press Alt+0169, on Mac press Option+G, and in many apps typing (c) will auto-correct to ©.
Can I use these symbols in my logo and website?+
Yes. These are standard characters you can paste into logos, footers, and documents. Just make sure you are entitled to use the specific mark — for example, only use ® with a properly registered trademark.
